The purpose of this letter is to express our deep sorrow, which we cannot deny. However, this obituary is intended to pay our final respects to Mr. Horst Bräuer, who was the owner and sole managing director of BATEX Technical Textiles GmbH until January 31, 2021. Unfortunately, he passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on April 21, 2023. The funeral took place on April 28, 2023, in a small family gathering at the main cemetery in Krefeld.
Mr. Breuer was always a guarantee of reliability, determination, and perseverance. We may have clashed with him, but his focus was always on the matter at hand. He never held grudges and was open to ideas, even if they did not originate from him. His actions were always wise and deliberate, and he had no room for greed or envy. His decisions were consistently sound and just.
The phrase "tough on the outside, tender on the inside" aptly describes him when one wants to sum him up succinctly. He has endeared himself to all of us, and we will remember him as we knew him – dynamic, determined, and warm-hearted.
Death rearranges the world. It may seem as if nothing has changed, and yet, the world has become entirely different for us. However, Mr. Breuer would not have wanted us to drown in grief. Instead, he would have wished for us to remember his strengths, which guided and led the company's fortunes for so many years – always seeking new paths and working in the best interest of our customers.
We will all preserve his legacy!
